Protostream Technologies was founded in 2001 by James David Murray in Nashville TN. At the time, the company invested all of it's interests in bringing streaming audio and video content to the world in near-DVD quality. At the end of 2001 Protostream had developed a solution to stream Microsoft's AVI format via broadband. This method was presented at Madison Square Garden, NYC and Cannes film festival - Cannes, France in 2001 by Mr. Murray.

James has been repairing, networking and programming PC based computers since 1986. In 1998 he began designing websites and building relational databases. Now in 2007, the main focus of the company is to provide a web presence for the client rich in multimedia content. Protostream provides hosting, audio & video streaming, e-commerce, database driven web applications, and easy to manage CMS (Content Management Systems).
